World Youth Skills Day 2021

TXM Plant is passionate about supporting young people’s personal and professional development. World Youth Skills Day recognises the importance of equipping young people with skills and training for employment and career development.

We are proud members of Go Construct, a CITB initiative to promote and inspire individuals within schools and communities into the construction industry. Go Construct showcases the many rewarding opportunities available and helps people from all backgrounds to enter an exciting and growing industry, which has a huge impact on the UK’s housing, industry and infrastructure.

Committed to the next generation of professionals, TXM has supported a number of apprentices through our apprenticeship programme that offers real experience and relevant training to support the development of our people. We’ve recently hosted a number of apprentice assessment days throughout the business. The assessment days included group exercises, depot tours, and the opportunity to ask questions to our Operations and Engineering teams.

Demonstrating TXM’s commitment to investing in future talent, successful candidates have been invited to join the business as Apprentice Engineers in September 2021, across our eight depots, getting hands-on experience while attending college and gaining technical qualifications. Meet some of our former apprentices here.

Celebrating World Youth Skills Day, we hope to generate awareness surrounding future skills, training and development of the country’s next generation of engineers.
