Investing for the Future: Our Plant
Over the last 12 months, TXM Plant has significantly invested in our fleet, including the delivery of 22 new machines over the last 18 months. This investment includes:
+ Nine new Doosan DX170 based heavy lift wheeled road/ rail excavators from GOS Tool & Engineering Services.
+ Ten JCB RA310 road/ rail excavators from Rail-Ability, which continue to bolster the company’s tracked fleet. These have proved very popular with customers due to their reliability and performance.
+ Three, bringing our total to six, Liebherr R920 tracked road/ rail excavators, further increasing TXM Plant’s versatility of options for customers.
In January 2023, a further five new Liebherr A924 wheeled road/ rail excavators were also secured, fitted with offset boom to provide customers with brand-new, high-performance road/ rail equipment specifically suited for track drainage.
TXM Plant has significant investment planned for the coming year, encompassing new equipment, including the Doosan DX140 tracked excavator from GOS Tool & Engineering Service, and the upgrade of existing machines. This will ensure we can offer customers the safest, highest-performing, and most reliable road/ rail equipment.
Alongside the investment in the day-to-day equipment, TXM Plant continues to consider ways it can better support our customers and proactively build the solutions required to make their present and future plans more efficient. The TXM Plant innovation team has been working closely with key suppliers and customers to do this. During 2022, TXM Plant achieved ECC approval for Komatsu PC138 tracked road/ rail excavators to work Any Line Open (ALO) ‘in the dig’, in collaboration with GKD Technologies. Further collaboration with GKD road/ rail excavators extended the ALO virtual wall capability to TXM Plant’s Neotec Skyrailer road/ rail MEWPs.
These two key innovations provide our customers with solutions to enhance the safe working of road/ rail equipment, as well as helping to unlock worksites. To complement the ALO virtual wall technology, TXM Plant also provides a full ALO planning and supervision service for customers. We will continue to invest in innovation and have much more exciting new innovative equipment and technology to offer to customers. This will be in safe machine operation, and a number of time/ resource saving specialist attachments to allow more to be done, in less time, on track-related work activities such as re-railing and renewals.
