Trent Valley Line Upgrade
In August 2021, Network Rail completed track and signal improvements on the Trent Valley Line, resulting in increased reliability for passengers using the West Coast main line.
Throughout July-August, TXM Plant assisted in laying more than a mile of track as part of Network Rail’s £2.6m investment plan. New excavation techniques were used to ensure the bottom ballast was accurately positioned meaning the track panels could be laid to the absolute design coordinates via GPS, creating a strong foundation for the track. The new signalling will also minimise potential faults in the future and reduce possible delays.
