About us

We work collaboratively with our customers to become a key member of their teams who takes the time to understand the specific requirements and potential risks of each job that we do – no matter how small. This helps to provide certainty in terms of both delivery and cost for operated plant hire, which lets our customers concentrate on managing their projects.

This more mature approach gained over the past 20 years, together with our strategically located national depot network and versatile fleet of plant and attachments, means that we can provide bespoke regional solutions to meet the specific demands of our customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

With continual investment in new and upgraded plant and attachments, as well as comprehensive operator and engineer training and development, we drive year-on-year performance improvement in everything that we do. This translates directly into added value for our customers through the provision of safe and reliable plant, highly skilled operators, and industry-leading POS and planning services.

Health and Safety

At TXM Plant, our vision for Health and Safety is based on aiming for a target of zero fatalities, reportable accidents, occupational illness, injuries to the public and zero incidents.

The Journey to Zero campaign is a strategic goal for the business that is not heavily focused on unrealistic timescales, but more on continually influencing attitudes and altering behaviours.

We are committed to improving awareness and understanding of key safety themes through coaching, supporting and empowering individuals to drive behavioural change.

We are focused on continuous improvement throughout the Journey to Zero and it’s our goal to develop a positive, proactive culture, whilst simultaneously learning from the experience of ourselves, our customers, and other plant providers so that the whole industry understands where risk arises and collectively works to mitigate or eliminate it from our day‐to‐day operations.

Engineering and assurance

Our in‐house engineering and assurance team are responsible for ensuring that our plant and attachments meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, performance, and reliability. Employing simple and standardised processes our 6S programme promotes a sustainable culture of safety and compliance where our staff are empowered and hold each other to account for performance.

Our 6S programme of behavioural safety and organisational discipline is designed to create a safe working environment that improves both quality and productivity with attendant health and safety benefits.

Providing the best facilities through 6S gives our engineering team the opportunity to do what they do best every day. This in turn creates improved machine reliability and increased customer satisfaction.

We hold several key accreditations associated with both general business requirements and the more specific requirements of the rail industry, including RISQS.

Route to Gold

As part of Network Rail’s On-Track Plant (OTP) performance and reliability scheme, TXM Plant was awarded Gold status on the ‘Route to Gold’ scheme in September 2020. The scheme aims to promote collaborative working behaviours, reducing costs associated with re-works, embedding a culture of continuous improvement across the rail industry.

We will continue to deliver a first-class service to all our customers in the safety and reliability of our services and operators.
